Review: Palace of the Damned (The saga of Larten Crepsley #3) by Darren Shan.

Palace of the Damned (The Saga of Larten Crepsley, #3) In the third instalment in the creepy, captivating Larten Crepsley series, Larten finds out what it means to love… but is he also damned to find out what it means to lose?

Lost in the arctic waste, carrying a baby whose love he could never deserve, Larten faces the darkest time he has ever known. But hope has a way of shining through even the smallest of cracks, and just as Larten reaches the end, a new beginning presents itself. The trouble is, for Larten, the violence of his youth is never far from the surface… and those he loves are the ones he hurts the most. As Larten experiences heaven and hell, and tries to save the soul of a child, the question is: can he save his own?

Synopsis from

This is the third book in the Larten Crepsley saga and I personally really enjoyed it! After the rather dull and disappointing previous book, I debated on whether or not I should continue with this series. However, my to-read list had run dry so I decided to give it a go.

I am completely happy that I did! After a short lapse with the second book, this saga has got right back on track! With a great balance of action and romance, Shan has got this covered.

You discover the origins of previous characters and Larten develops. You hear more of Desmond Tiny who has to be my favourite character. Very smooth plotline with adventure and strong emotions running high. I wouldn't say it ended on a cliffhanger but I would say that it definitely makes me want to read the next one!

With a improved plotline and ever mysterious characters I recommend this saga to lovers of action, mystery and romance.

Till tomorrow!
